Design Principle

Woweee, it's been awhile since I've touched this thing.

Well, Semester 2 of my FNBE course is underway and already I'm dreading a class - DESIGN PRINCIPLE.

The class is all about DRAWING.

What's the problem? You may ask... Aren't you in Architecture? That's what you signed up for right?

Well, yes to both those questions. But still, that IS the problem! In that class, you do nothing BUT drawing!!

And when I mean drawing, I don't mean one page of scenic drawing and then end of story...

I mean, holy-crap-my-wrist-hurts-and-I-have-2-more-super-detailed-pictures-to-draw type drawing.

We also had to give our drawings titles. I just crapped every single one.

For example... The following pictures have been done in the past 2 days...

EMPHASIS ON TWO

"SPINNEY" THE BELT BUCKLE

This is my actual belt buckle and also one of my first drawings. AND IT SPINS!!! Damn semangat ma... Took me 1 hour to sketch and RENDER this... After this, not semangat liao...

DROUGHT

Then, I became semangat AGAIN! @.@ Drew this with nothing but poking the paper. poke-poke-poke-poke... SUPER-poke... po-po-po-pokerface

Took non-stop 20 minutes of poking to finish.

THE PSYCHIC'S EYE

Beside inanimate objects, we also had to try drawing human body parts. Lost my semangat-ness in this drawing... My supposedly-super-detailed eye didn't go as planned. Supposed to be way, way , way more detailed than this...

WALL OBSERVATION

We did this in class in under 5 minutes (supposedly...) Notice my 3rd upper window is brighter than my 2nd upper window when it should be darker... Failed there... 5 minutes... Can't help that...

The next few drawings had to be done under 5 minutes as well...

CURSE OF CURVES

And just when we thought we could rest our tired arms and hands, our lecturer had to go give us homework to do :)
Surprisingly I did this in 3 minutes...(Time's in the bottom right corner) Not that much detail, but hey, she said "sketch" only :P

Developed a blister on my 3rd finger though...

CORRIDOR, LUMINATED

I failed to do this one under 5 minutes, took me too long to get the shading of light coming through just nice. Went semangat just long enough to finish this just under 10 minutes xD

BLINDING BEAM

Again, I realize lighting is really hard to draw with pencil. This had only one source of light but it was hard nonetheless. Summore the details of the wall had to follow the picture. At least I'm honest to tell my lecturer I didn't finish this within the time limit :P

Bet lost of people will be cheating. Only a super geng artist can sketch within 5 minutes.

Who ever you are, who can do that, I really salute you :P

There, my post for the time being, until I get the mood to do another post, have a great story to tell, or just get another person to bug me to write a post :P

Owh! And Introduction to Business is really, really boring... But that's another story ;)
